Missions - Local Mission

A fundamental part of our mission program is ‘Local.’ We believe faith must first find it’s expression in local mission not just mission overseas. Projects are under development and details of those projects are given below.

LOCAL MISSION – THE BRIERLEY HILL PROJECT

The Brierley Hill Project was launched in November 2005 as a joint initiative between Amblecote Christian Centre and South Street Baptist Church. To provide a base for community outreach activities we have renovated the Baptist church and employed two workers by raising over £320,000. The project aims to offer a wide range of community services and activities for the residents of the Chapel Street estate. To understand more about the project

LOCAL MISSION – HAWBUSH HOUSING ESTATE

For some years we have been working on a local housing estate called Hawbush. In 2006 we appointed a fulltime community outreach worker to work in this community. With a large team of volunteers Simon co-ordinates a wide range of activities mainly for children and young people.
