Are you creative? Do you like painting, design, video, music, graphics or photography? We have the opportunity as a youth group to apply for some funding to get equipment and do some training to become even more creative as a youth group. We have a meeting planned for Wednesday 9th May to meet with the funders to talk about what we want to do. It doesn’t matter how young you are, or how experienced, we just want you there to share your thoughts and opinions on the best way forward.

February half term is a great opportunity for us to work to reach young people. Sharing the love and message of Christ in very relevant ways.
Reaching young people through football
This half term we took the opportunity to reach young people through football. Using Arron Worrall’s grant money we organised a joint tournament, the Dudley Faith Football Cup.

This tournament saw 6 teams from 4 church groups compete for the prestigious trophies. The tournament finished with an award ceremony, including speeches, food and x-pro Dennis Pearce (Aston Villa/Wolves) sharing about his football career and faith. We took 14 lads connected to the Hawbush project and our youth club on a Friday night. It was a great opportunity for them to take part in a tournament and hear Dennis’ amazing experience being a professional footballer.
On Thursday 16th Feb we took the same group of lads to Wembley to take part in the ‘behind the scenes’ tour. What a day! Apart from a mis-hap in transport resulting in a few of the lads not making it the rest of the group enjoyed looking round the Wembley changing rooms, sitting in the ‘dug-out’ and even having their photo taken with the FA Cup. A great day to see some amazing things and spend time continuing to build relationships and share life with these young people, many of whom face many challenges at home and in their school life.
This February half term is looking like the best one we have ever done.
Dudley Faith Football Cup – a joint tournament
First we start off with what me and Tim hope will be a great experience for many young people across the Dudley borough. A partnership between ourselves and Gareth Hides from Sedgley Community Church has been used to experiment with the idea of a football tournament run between our two youth groups. I am pleased to say that everything has fallen into place and we have sent up a 6 team tournament consisting between ourselves, Sedgley, and possibly Calvary and Champions. The tournament which is to be called The Dudley Faith Football Cup looks set to be a great way to combine football with faith.
Exploring Christianity – STORM DAY

On Wednesday we are heading the very short distance to living springs for a day out with the young people who attend Storm. Storm is our youth group where the young people of Amblecote go out of the main service into a smaller environment where they can learn about Christ with their friends whilst having a fun time.
On our way to Wembley!

Many of you will know about me successfully getting funding for my football team and our last trip is for the young people involved in the football team. We are taking them on an experience of a life time, a trip to Wembley Stadium for a stadium tour. The tour includes visiting the dressing rooms, walking through the tunnel to the pitch, walking up the steps to the royal box (where the royal family sit to watch games) to pick up the FA Cup Trophy. Not only are we going for a stadium tour but we are also taking the young people to Powerleague for a game of football. This week is looking set to be an amazing week for the youth involved.
We could do with some help transporting the youth for the football tournament so if are interested in helping then please come speak to either myself or Tim Barton. For more information about Storm and how your child can join storm then please speak to Elizabeth Cutler, Jon Start, Catherine Jenkins or Tim Barton.
God bless

It was a great Christmas party for all those at Club12-15 and Next level. We saw over 50 young people playing football in the football cage, gladiators on the inflatables, loving the food and even a mass dance floor half way through the night in the cage!
Well done to the team for pulling the evening together. To Mark for transporting the cage for us, Aaron for DJ’ing sooooo well, Jane and Madge for sorting the food and Arron for arranging it all. This is just one way we can bless the young people of our area and give them a great, safe and friendly night out.

We’re planning another fantastic Youth Weekend Away for next year. All of our weekends away have been superb times of building friendships, getting to know each other, doing activities together, teaching, prayer and worship. I think everyone who has been away with us would say they were impacted one way or another by these times away.
In 2012 we’re planning to go away on 13th -15th April. We’re going to be visiting a brand new activity centre in Staffordshire, recently opened, built on a huge lake. The activity centre offers full en-suite accommodation, excellent facilities and catering, adventure activities and a beautiful location. As always, we can guarantee God will have plans for us as we seek Him together on this weekend away.
We need your deposits in by Friday 3rd February and more information can be found on these letters -

Congratulations to Arron who managed to get £480 of funding from the Youth Opportunities fund to support the football sessions he’s pulling together with around 20 of the lads from Hawbush and Club12-15. The lads are set after a couple of training sessions for a friendly match with a team from Pensnett at the Dell this Friday.
Sport offers a great opportunity for us to engage young people, spend time developing friendships and share the love of Christ in an informal and friendly way. The sessions now has some funding behind it to get equipment, pitch hire and a big football trip for all those who take part.
We are currently looking for support for these sessions, for more information speak to Arron or contact Tim on 07872351183
