Beth Faulkner, LOGOS HOPE Newsletter #8 10-11-2019
I’m sure you won’t believe me when I say that this is actually the first opportunity I have had to write my newsletter since I returned to the Ship at the end of August! But seriously, life has been hectic what with Changeover, adjusting to my new job role as Laundry Leader, making new friends, training thirteen new Angels, adjusting to Brazilian culture and the list goes on… So, let me apologise for the terrible lack of contact and proceed to tell you the truth that I have been repeating over and over since I returned …
God is good!
And He really is! Through all of the ups and downs of watching my close friends leave and two days later welcoming hopeful new recruits, or working over 10-hour days and yet trying respond with love when asked the same question for the twentieth time that day, I can still truthfully proclaim that the Lord Almighty is indeed GOOD. His grace has been showing me that, despite my unpredictable, inconsistent and sometimes trying circumstances, His Word and character remain the same and therefore I can say, “God is good”. And when I have this as my focus and anthem, I can then see all the blessings He has scattered along my day – a person to help me, glorious sunshine, an encouraging smile or even one especially tough week when He brought me free chocolate every day!
I think these verses sum it up perfectly: “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning, great is Your faithfulness. I say to myself, ‘The Lord is my portion; therefore, I will wait for Him.’” Lamentations 3:22-24.
Thank you for your prayers, messages and financial support despite my embarrassing lack of communication these past months. Know that I am certainly thinking of and thanking God for everyone backing me! And since this will be my last newsletter of 2019, I wish you all a happy Christmas and blessed New Year 🙂
May you be encouraged that God is good always,
