Stourbridge Street Pastors have now been running for ten years, and last year, received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, which was recognition for the hours of voluntary service given to the people of the town particularly to those who are out in the streets and pubs socially on Saturday night/Sunday morning. Hopefully we all benefit from streets free of glasses, bottles and cans in the day time also!
Kellie Brown and Richard Clark are both Stourbridge Street Pastors, and would love to talk to anyone who is interested in the street pastor role in Stourbridge. People are welcome to go out with a patrol to observe what goes on in the town late at night, and see the street pastor role at first hand. The article below gives some insight also, and highlights the shift away from practical help (in the more chaotic years!) to a chance to engage with people and talk about issues in their lives. If anyone is interested, please do contact Kellie or Richard.
