This Sunday we take a break from our Ephesians series to spend some time looking at how we hear God speak.
If I told you that I had a great friendship with someone but that we weren’t speaking anymore you might be a little confused! And you would be right to be.
Why? Because speaking forms an essential component of a relationship. Through speaking we convey love, frustration, our decisions, thoughts and feelings, speaking as communication is in many ways one of the key foundations of any relationship.
The same can be said of our relationship with God. We don’t simply follow a set of rules and regulations, following Jesus is about a relationship, and therefore about communication.
But how do we hear God speak?
And how do we know whether God is speaking to us?
In scripture God is revealed as a speaking God. In Genesis 1-3 the words ‘And God said’ or ‘God spoke’ appear 20 times. God clearly wants us to know that He is a speaking God and that He does speak to His creation.
Join us this Sunday as we look together at the Biblical foundations for hearing God speak and how we grow in hearing and discerning the voice of God.
