It’s hard to believe that it’s 12 months since I wrote my last Saturday Special report. Since then, things haven’t just stopped, so I thought I’d give you a little update of where we’re at now.
The group reformed in September 2018 as Flourish, meeting at Arise Church, Kingswinford in the capable hands of Laura and Jacqui and, yes, they are dressed up as a strawberry and a watermelon. They both have such a heart for this very special ministry and it’s great to see Flourish going from strength to strength.
The number of people who come to the group has increased and we have welcomed some new faces along with the old faithfuls. Sean paid us a visit this month so it was great to see him. Sara, Sally, Matthew and Janine were all there when the group started with about six members at BHP in 2008 and they still love to come. Groups from Oakleighs Home, Halas, Highbury and Langstone have all continued to come along to the new venue. So we thank God that we can regularly welcome about 50 people who love God and love to worship with us at Flourish.
The theme for the year has been Fruits of the Spirit. Activities, stories, craft, talks etc have all linked up to the theme and it’s been very varied and a lot of fun.
We’ve always found prayer time very special and it continues to be so. Last week we prayed for all those who aren’t feeling well. We were sorry to hear that both Philips from Halas are poorly and we are keeping them in our prayers and praying that God will wrap his tender arms around them.
Our loyal band of volunteers, including quite a few not in the photos, continue to support the group and we thank them all for their commitment.
Flourish meets on the 1st Saturday of the month, starting again in September, at 10.00 -12.00 at Arise Church, Stallings Lane, Kingswinford so, if you’d like to see what we get up do, please pop along. We would love to welcome you.
